How to Use RaveGen: Complete Getting Started Guide
Everything you need to know to get started with RaveGen, from your first AI image to advanced video generation and avatar creation.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Go to ravegen.xyz/login and sign up with Google, Discord, or email. You will receive free credits to start generating immediately — no credit card required.
Step 2: Choose a Generation Mode
The home dashboard shows all available modes. Here is what each one does:
Text to Image
Type a description, get an image. The most popular mode for creating AI art, characters, landscapes, and concepts.
Image to Image
Upload an existing image and transform it. Change the style, add details, or use it as a structural guide for AI generation.
Text to Video
Describe a scene in text and get a video with motion, camera work, and lighting.
Image to Video
Upload an image and animate it. The AI adds motion while keeping the original composition.
Edit / Inpaint
Upload an image, draw a mask over the area you want to change, and describe the replacement. Perfect for fixing AI artifacts or removing objects.
Avatar Studio
Build a custom AI character with visual controls. Generate portraits and talking videos from your avatar.
Motion Control
Control camera and character movement in generated videos. Direct your AI video like a filmmaker.
Lip Sync
Sync character lip movements to an audio track. Create talking head videos.
Step 3: Select an AI Model
RaveGen offers multiple AI models for each generation type. Click the model selector in the generator to browse available options. Each model has a different style:
- -Photorealistic models — for lifelike photos, portraits, and scenes
- -Anime / Illustration models — for anime, manga, and stylized art
- -Artistic models — for painterly, abstract, and creative styles
- -Video models — for text-to-video and image-to-video generation
Read our complete guide to AI models on RaveGen for detailed breakdowns.
Step 4: Write Your Prompt
The prompt is the text description that tells the AI what to generate. Here are tips for writing good prompts:
- 1.Be specific — "a woman in a red dress standing in a field of sunflowers at golden hour" works better than "a woman"
- 2.Include style cues — mention art style (photorealistic, oil painting, anime), lighting (dramatic, soft, neon), and mood (cinematic, dreamy, dark)
- 3.Add quality tags — terms like "highly detailed", "8k", "masterpiece", "sharp focus" can improve output quality
- 4.Use negative prompts — specify what you do not want: "blurry, low quality, deformed hands, watermark"
Step 5: Adjust Settings (Optional)
Advanced settings let you fine-tune the generation:
- -Dimensions — choose image size and aspect ratio (portrait, landscape, square)
- -CFG Scale — how closely the AI follows your prompt (higher = more literal, lower = more creative)
- -Steps — number of denoising steps (more steps = more detail, but slower)
- -Duration — for video modes, set the length of the output clip
Step 6: Generate and Iterate
Click the generate button. Your result will appear in seconds. From there you can:
- -Download the image or video
- -Use it as input for image-to-image or image-to-video
- -Edit it with inpainting to fix or modify areas
- -Tweak the prompt and regenerate for variations
- -View all your generations in the gallery
